Johnnies in the NBA Update: You Have as Many NBA Points as JaKarr Sampson

I was never high on the NBA prospects of former St. John’s Red Storm standout JaKarr Sampson. I wasn’t against him turning pro or anything — as I believe getting money anywhere in the world to play basketball is actually a win — but making an NBA team seemed like a long shot for a small forward/power forward hybrid who doesn’t really excel in any one area.

Alas, I forgot about the progressive thinking Philadelphia 76ers. Or, really, their current gameplan to lose as many NBA games as humanly possible. Mind you, that’s another approach I actually agree with.

Regardless, here is your current NBA update of a former St. John’s Red Storm player two games into the very young NBA season.

JaKarr Sampson

Points: As many NBA points as you (that’s not a good thing).

Plus/Minus: Um, he is in the minus, but so is the whole team.

Prospects: Still atrocious, but everyone knew that JaKarr Sampson was a developmental prospect and even if he played overseas it would take time before he was a player of relevance.

Well, there you have it. Sampson still has a long way to go and he and you are very similar as far as current NBA stats.
