The Big East As If Teams Were Beers

St. John’s Is LandShark Beer

I am a St. John’s Red Storm fan. This is as obvious as the day is filled with children picking their noses and street-walkers getting curb stomped by upper management. So it is hard for me to stay unbiased. Even with that, though, I feel confident in saying that Steve Lavin has the program on the right track to get back to being major players in the Big East.

Now, LandShark isn’t a beer that has been around since the beginning of time like the Johnnies. Nor is it a beer that has ever been as nationally revered as the Red Storm program once was. But, it is a beer that is climbing the rankings of casual beer lovers’ fictitious beer-loving-charts.

A day — soon likely — will come when casual college basketball fans declare St. John’s their favorite team because Lavin brought in some super-duper awesome recruit. Much in the same way people are starting to call LandShark their favorite beer because it is new and neat. I mean, everyone likes the new and neat things in the world.
