Phil Greene IV

Phil Greene IV is still doing his usual spurts of brilliance. One game he will score 20 points while being effective with the ball in his hands. Another game he will score six and turn the ball over at a scary clip. Greene IV might represent the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde that many feel the Red Storm are like more than any other player on the roster.

The Positives

It is hard to give Greene IV a straight up positive or negative critique because he plays so inconstantly that knocking him for his scoring would be dumb because he can and has scored. The same could be said about all other aspects of his game. I guess the fact that he has the ability to do everything is his actual positive.

The Negatives

Which makes his negative his inability to do it all on a regular basis. Really, Phil Greene IV is a really hard player to describe in a good or bad way to anyone that has never seen him play. You can’t tell anyone he can’t score, because he can. You can’t say he can’t handle the ball, because he could. Etc. St. John’s just need Greene IV to show his flashes more consistently — or at least when they needs him to be the guy who can drop 20.

Overall Grade: C

For consistency, obviously.
