Shooting Guards

Much like point guards, Mike Anderson values all types of guards, but one thing that plagued the Johnnies in his first season at the helm is the shooting abilities of the team.

There’s no debating that the Red Storm played hard and did all they could to win basketball games, but sometimes hitting a couple outside shots, or lack their of, cost St. John’s several wins last season.

However, once again in no particular order, the Johnnies have reached out to these prospects since midnight on June 15.

DJ Jackson – First Love Christian Academy (Pa.). Two-star recruits, according to Verbal Commits. Not ranked by 247 Sports.

Aaron Clark – St. Benedict’s Preparatory School (N.J.). Two-star recruit, according to Verbal Commits. Not ranked by 247 Sports.

Nick Smith – Sylvan Hills High School (Ark.). Four-star recruit, No. 44 in nation, No. 10 shooting guard, according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Elijah Perkins – Ranney School (N.J.). Two-star recruit, according to Verbal Commits. Not ranked by 247 Sports.

Kyle Cuffe Jr. – Blair Academy (N.J.). Four-star recruit, No. 60 in country, No. 5 combo guard, according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
