The St. John’s basketball program extended an offer to Class of 2022 shooting guard Chance Westry.
Mike Anderson is hitting the ground running with the rising junior class as the second year head coach of St. John’s has reached out to many player in the Class of 2022, he has also extended some offers.
Recruiting expert Andrew Slater reported that the Red Storm officially offered Chance Westry, one of the top shooting guards in the country.
Westry is ranked as the No. 27 recruit in the nation, as well as the No. 7 shooting guard in his class.

A Camp Hill, Pennsylvania native, the 6-foot-4 guard is also the No. 3 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania, all according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
The Trinity High School star has brought in many offers since midnight on June 15, with St. John’ just being one of them. Programs such as Auburn, Louisville, Virginia, Nebraska, Temple, Georgia, Pittsburgh, and Miami, in addition to being contacted by Kentucky head coach John Calipari.
In addition to those program, Westry also has offers from Syracuse, DePaul, Florida, Georgetown, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, VCU, Virginia Tech, and many more.
Jerry Meyer, the Director of Basketball Scouting for 247 Sports, has logged his Crystal Ball Prediction for Chance Westry and it has the highly touted prospect landing in New York, but a little too far up-state for the likes of St. John’s fans.

Meyer predicts Westry will commit to Syracuse, although his confidence level is currently at a six-of-ten.
Westry also plays for the New York Renaissance on the Nike EYBL Basketball Circuit.
St. John’s has made itself very familiar with many prospects in the rising junior class but a phone call is very different than an offer and Mike Anderson found it in himself to offer Chance Westry hours after the recruiting period opened for the Class of 2022 on June 15.
