St. John’s basketball could be looking at package deal in the Class of 2022 with two players that are very good friends.

Admittedly it’s very, very early in the process but there could be a package deal forming with the Class of 2022.

Long time St. John’s prospect Kyle Cuffe Jr. has been extremely high on the recruiting boards of the Red Storm’s coaching staff and recently Mike Anderson and his staff have reached out to Avery Brown.

Brown is a member of the Class of 2022 and like Cuffe Jr., he is a highly sought after prospect in the rising junior class.

The two prospects are very good friends and in a recent tweet, which was retweeted by Brown, says to keep your “eyes peel” to these two possibly teaming up in college.

Cuffe Jr. stars as a combo guard for Blair Academy (N.J.) while Brown is a 6-foot-3 point guard at Northfield Mount Hermon (Mass.).

According to both recruit’s profiles on Verbal Commits, neither holds an offer from the same school, but Brown has been gathering interest from programs that have offered Cuffe Jr. such as Kansas State, Connecticut, Providence, and St. John’s.

St. John’s has long had a connection with Kyle Cuffe Jr. as his father, Kyle Cuffe Sr., played in Queens from 2000-2004.

Cuffe Jr. is ranked as the No. 61 player in the country according to the Top247 Sports rankings while being the No. 5 Combo Guard and No. 1 prospect in the state of New Jersey as Brown is the No. 80 recruit in the same rankings, the No. 18 point guard, and No. 1 player in the state of Massachusetts.

St. John’s has not landed a prospect in the Class of 2021 or Class of 2022 yet, but Mike Anderson continues to work the phones and connect with prospects in hopes of bringing St. John’s back to the top of New York City basketball.
