St. John’s basketball: Players that must step up in absence of LJ Figueroa
Vince Cole is LJ Figueroa entering St. John’s.
The two players have very similar skill sets, although Cole seems to be a better shooter than Figueroa entering Queens.
Figueroa’s departure thrusted Cole into a bigger role in his first year on campus and the JUCO All-American seems up to the challenge.
A video surfaced on Twitter of Cole showing off his deep range, followed by a series of tweets boasting the 6-foot-6 wing’s ability to shock everyone in the Big East next season.
As a native of Allendale, South Carolina, Cole is ranked as the No. 21 JUCO recruit in the country, No. 7 shooting guard, and No. 2 prospect in the state of South Carolina, according to the 247 Sports Composite JUCO Rankings.

In his sophomore season at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie, he averaged 21.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 44.6 percent from 3-point range, and 90.1 percent from the free throw line.
Vince Cole will be a major key for the Red Storm next season and could perfectly fill the shoes of LJ Figueroa.
