The St. John’s basketball team offered four-star Class of 2021 combo guard Wesley Cardet Jr. on Sunday night.

Mike Anderson and his coaching staff are staying busy on the recruiting trail as the Red Storm have extended an offer to Class of 2021 combo guard Wesley Cardet Jr.

Cardet Jr. announced his newest offer on his Twitter page on Sunday night, hours after Class of 2020 forward Alex Tchikou announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide over St. John’s and several other programs.

The latest guard to be offered by the Johnnies stands a 6-foot-6, 175 pounds and stars at Northeast High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Cardet Jr. is a four-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 102 recruit in the rising senior class as well as the No. 7 combo guard, and No. 8 recruit in the state of Florida.

In a breakdown of his game, Wesley Cardet Jr. can play on and off the ball and his defense is well above average for his current skill and competition level.

The guard is most comfortable when driving to the basket but has the tools to shoot from the permitter but a Mike Anderson style of play could suit him the best in turning his defense into easy offense at the other end of the floor.

As for a timeline of committing, Cardet Jr. says he will probably commit late in his senior year as the coronavirus pandemic as caused chaos on the recruiting scene with various tournaments, camps, and showcase being canceled because of the health situation.

St. John’s currently does not have a commitment in the Class of 2021 yet, but on paper the program will only be losing senior guard Rasheem Dunn in its backcourt following the 2020-21 season.
