St. John’s basketball target Jordan Riley announces that he will make his college commitment on Friday.

Mark your calendars St. John’s fans! Perhaps the most important day of the 2020 offseason is upon you.

Red Storm basketball target Jordan Riley will announce his commitment on Friday, July 24 at 10:00 AM in the Sonderling Gym at Brentwood High School.

The announcement was first reported by LI Sports Fanatic and confirmed by multiple sources.

Riley’s date of his announcement came less than 24 hours after the 2021 four-star recruit included St. John’s in his Top-5 schools that he will choose from.

UConn, Georgetown, Kansas, and Florida State make up the rest of Riley’s final list.

St. John’s was one of the first programs to offer the Brentwood High School star back on January 14 and he has been a high priority for the staff for months.

Out of the five finalists, the Red Storm have recruited Riley the longest as Georgetown offered in April while the rest offered him in June.

The 6-foot-4 Riley averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists per game last season for Brentwood leading them to a 23-2 record on the way to becoming Suffolk Class AA Champions and was named Suffolk County Player of the Year.

Riley also stars for the New York Lighting on the Nike EYBL Circuit.

If not for the coronavirus pandemic canceling the AAU season and various other games and recruiting events, he would most likely be shooting up the rankings for the 2021 class.

Nonetheless, Riley would be a huge commitment for Mike Anderson and the Red Storm and would represent a key building block for this Red Storm team for the next few years.

St. John’s fans and coaching staff alike should be feeling good about the chances of Riley staying home and committing to the Red Storm.

Make sure to keep an eye on social media on Friday to see what Jordan Riley’s final decision will be.
