The St. John’s basketball program is kicking the tires regarding a Class of 2021 recruit that would help the team’s front court.

The recruiting priority from Mike Anderson and the St. John’s Red Storm seems clear for the Class of 2021 as the program is kicking the tires regarding a rising senior prospect.

Will Henderson, a 6-foot-10 power forward, has been gathering interest from the Johnnies as he gets set to embark on his senior season at Scotland Campus in Pennsylvania after previously playing at Life Christian Academy in Virginia.

Henderson has most recently picked up an offer from Florida International on Tuesday afternoon and has yet to receive an offer from St. John’s, but it’s something to monitor going forward for the Red Storm who lack depth and size in the paint.

The Richmond, Virginia also holds offers from Norfolk State, Southern Utah, Mount St. Mary’s, Howard, Southern, Wake Forest, and Boston College.

However, the big man is gathering interest from programs such as Cincinnati, VCU, Iona, Old Dominion, Western Kentucky, Loyola (Chicago), Connecticut, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and Texas A&M.

St. John’s only has one commitment in the Class of 2021 in Drissa Traore, a 6-foot-9 player out of Harlem, New York, who thrives in an up-tempo system and works as hard as any player on the floor.

While the Red Storm are connected to many front court players in the Class of 2021, most recently extending an offer to Class of 2021 junior college recruit Carlos Curry, a former player at Ole Miss, the staff still searches for players who will be perfect fits in Queens as competitors in the Big East loaded up on player in the class.

Should things fall apart with those other prospects St. John’s have offered, a possible offer could be coming to Will Henderson from Mike Anderson.
