The early portion of the Big East Conference schedule has been released for St. John’s basketball.
Some semblance of a schedule is slowing being released for the St. John’s basketball program as the Big East Conference has announced its early slate of games.
Much like the men’s side, the women’s December league schedule was announced by the Big East and head coach Joe Tartamella and the Red Storm might have a favorable schedule to begin conference play.
St. John’s tips off Big East play against the Georgetown Hoyas at Carnesecca Arena on December 4 and the Lady Johnnies will remain in Queens to close out the first weekend of league play, hosting Preseason All-Big East selection Maddy Siegrist and the Villanova Wildcats.
Tartamella’s squad swept the season series against the Hoyas in 2019-20 but the Red Storm were swept by Villanova in two, tough overtime losses.

Following its home stand, St. John’s will hit the road for the first time in Big East Conference play, traveling to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for revenge against the Marquette Golden Eagles.
Marquette took all three games from the Lady Johnnies last season, including its matchup in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament, which ultimately ended the season for St. John’s.
The Golden Eagles and Red Storm face each other at the Al McGuire Center on Wednesday, December 16.
Closing out its second weekend in conference play, the Red Storm then travel to Rhode Island to face the Providence Friars on Saturday, December 19.
What is next for St. John’s basketball?
No other games have been announced for the St. John’s women’s basketball program as the Johnnies are looking to respond following its 19-12 (11-7 Big East) season in 2019-20.
St. John’s was predicted at No. 4 in the Preseason Big East Coaches Poll behind the Connecticut Huskies, DePaul Blue Demons, and Marquette Golden Eagles.

The Red Storm will be relying on senior Qadashah Hoppie and sophomore Leilani Correa this upcoming season, who were both selected to Preseason All-Big East Team.
