The St. John’s basketball program has narrowed its Christmas Wish List to one item.

Mike Anderson and the St. John’s basketball program are not dreaming of a White Christmas, rather the Johnnies are dreaming of a Cuffe Christmas, as in four-star recruit Kyle Cuffe Jr.

The New Jersey prospect announced his Top-6 schools via Tipton Edits on Friday afternoon and the Red Storm made the cut for its top target in the Class of 2022.

Along with the Johnnies, Cuffe Jr. also included Pittsburgh, Georgia, Kansas State, Texas A&M, and the big blue-blood of the bunch, the Kansas Jayhawks in his final six programs.

As for St. John’s, Cuffe told Tipton Edits, “I love the coach and the excitement he brings, my father also went there.”

Kyle Cuffe Sr. was a standout for the Red Storm from 2000-04 and the hopes and dreams of seeing his offspring in a St. John’s uniform gives fans hope of the Johnnies coming back to relevance around the country.

The final decision from Kyle Cuffe Jr. will come on December 26.

A 6-foot-2 shooting guard who stars at Blair Academy (N.J.), is ranked as a four-star recruit according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and is the No. 109 recruit in the country, No. 15 shooting guard, and No. 4 player in the state of New Jersey.

St. John’s basketball is the perfect fit for Kyle Cuffe Jr.

Since arriving at St. John’s, head coach Mike Anderson has targeted a specific set of players he wants to bring into his system in Queens and Cuffe Jr. fits that mold perfectly.

A strong, defensive minded guard, Kyle Cuffe Jr. creates his offense because of his defense and he’s able to run down the court like a thoroughbred, attacking the rim with a determined mindset and ability to shoot the ball from 3-point range.

Santa Clause normally leaves presents under the Christmas Tree early in the morning on December 25 but Mike Anderson and his coaching staff will be waiting for one more present on December 26 and it could be the best present the Johnnies could ever ask for.
