St. John’s basketball Key to Victory No. 3 – Quickly shake off the rust

It was a concern entering the scheduled matchup against DePaul, how much amount of rust will be on the Red Storm following its break?

Trying to shake off rust at home against a fellow Big East bottom feeder is one thing, but going on the road in the conference after a 17-day break in between games in a completely different challenge.

Whatever rust the Johnnies come out with, they have to try and snap out of it within the first four minutes while keeping the game close as Xavier never truly paused around the holidays.

The Musketeers last played on December 30 against Seton Hall but had one matchup scheduled for January 2 against Villanova postponed because of COVID-19 within the Wildcats program.

The less lulls St. John’s encounters, the better chance the Johnnies have of coming away with a victory.
