St. John’s basketball vs. Xavier Prediction

For whatever reason, it seems like this St. John’s team matches-up very well with Xavier on paper.

There is no Naji Marshall to take over a game or Tyrique Jones to dominate the paint where the Red Storm have no answer for the physically imposting force.

Zach Freemantle is a very good player in the post, but he has yet to develop into the beast that Jones was.

St. John’s will have the tallest player on the court, 6-foot-11 Isaih Moore, and the tallest player on the Xavier roster, 6-foot-10 freshman Dieonte Miles, will not be available because of a calf injury.

As previously mentioned, Paul Scruggs is the key, if the Red Storm can find a way to slow him down, the Johnnies have a very good chance at taking down Xavier.

St. John’s has been off for over two weeks and Xavier has not been playing their best basketball since it last was on the floor.

Here’s your Wednesday upset special.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00pm EST (CBS Sports Network) from the Cintas Center.

PREDICTION: St. John’s 85, Xavier 79
