No. 3 St. John’s basketball moment of 2021: Johnnies takes down Seton Hall in finale

St. John’s would close out its regular season against the Seton Hall Pirates in a must-win situation if the Johnnies wanted any sort of shot at making the NCAA Tournament.

The game started off in the worst way imaginable for the Red Storm as Seton Hall jumped out to an 18-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game.

However, once the St. John’s game hit television due to an overlap with previous programming, the Red Storm woke up and went on a furious rally behind 22 points from Julian Champagnie to eventually take down Seton Hall, 81-71.

However, the Pirates would have the last laugh by outlasting the Johnnies in overtime in the Big East Tournament Quarterfinals just a few days later.

Either way, it was still an intriguing moment and memorable win for the Red Storm at the time.
