The St. John’s basketball team takes the court for the first time since its loss to UConn.

After its emotionally draining loss on the road against the UConn Huskies (11-4, 2-2 Big East) the St. John’s basketball is back at home against the Georgetown Hoyas (6-7, 0-2 Big East) inside Madison Square Garden.

The Johnnies (9-5, 1-2 Big East) are riding a two game losing streak entering Sunday afternoon’s game and has dropped three of its last four games, including a loss to Pittsburgh at The Garden without Julian Champagnie.

Champagnie looked to have the game winning shot on Wednesday night against the Huskies before UConn worked its magic with 4.8 seconds left in regulation and forced overtime, eventually pulling away to victory.

Georgetown has been the worst team in the Big East this season and it is not getting any better for the reigning Big East Tournament Champions as they return to Manhattan for the first time since last March.

Five-star freshman recruit Aminu Mohammed leads the Hoyas with 13.8 points per game.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Georgetown

St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon as he recovers from health and safety protocols.

The New York Post reported that the freshman guard will be out indefinitely despite being out of quarantine and with the team on the bench.

Georgetown will be without head coach Patrick Ewing because of health and safety protocols and the team was without Donald Carey, Dante Harris, and Kobe Clark on Thursday against Butler but no update has been given by the program on their status.

St. John’s vs. Georgetown Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds lists St. John’s as a 10.5-point favorite at Madison Square Garden against the Georgetown on Sunday afternoon while the total is listed at 161.5.

St. John’s should cruise to a victory against the Hoyas, just like the Johnnies should have done against Pittsburgh in its only other game at The Garden this season.

The trajectories of both teams appear go going in opposite directions, or at least the outlook of the Red Storm is not as bleak as it is for Georgetown.

We will take St. John’s to win, and cover, at home on Sunday while the total will go under the number listed.
