The St. John’s basketball team is back on the road to face the Creighton Bluejays.

It is not a secret that Wednesday night is a big night for the St. John’s basketball team.

The Johnnies (10-5, 2-2 Big East) have another Quadrant 1 opportunity on the road against the Creighton Bluejays (10-5, 2-2 Big East) after dropping its first two conference road games this season.

St. John’s led in the second half in both of its first two Big East road games against Providence and UConn, both ended up being losses for the program before responding with a victory over Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at home.

Since running then No. 9 Villanova out of its home gym, the Bluejays held on to defeat Marquette in double overtime and have since lost two straight games, both coming on the road.

Ryan Hawkins leads the team with 13.4 points per game while freshman Ryan Nembhard and senior Alex O’Connell both post 12.5 points per contest.

Ryan Kalkbrenner, a 7-foot-1 presence in the paint, is averaging 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Creighton

St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon as he recovers from health and safety protocols.

Sophomore guard Posh Alexander left Sunday’s game three minutes early with what looked like a groin injury but said he was fine physically after the victory over Georgetown.

St. John’s vs. Creighton Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds lists St. John’s as a 4-point underdog on the road against Creighton on Wednesday night while the total is listed at 149.5.

Games on the road against Creighton have been nightmares for the Johnnies as the program is just 1-9 all time in Omaha but this provides a major Quad 1 opportunity for the Red Storm, who are winless in such opportunities this year.

Creighton and St. John’s are teams sitting in similar positions and a win for either team could significantly help its NCAA Tournament chances.

In an upset, we will take St. John’s to win outright on Wednesday while the total will go over the number listed.
