The St. John’s basketball team hosts No. 15 Providence in a critical showdown.

Perhaps the season is on the line again for the St. John’s basketball team which needs another resume building victory.

The Johnnies squandered a chance to significantly boost its resume over the weekend against No. 14 Villanova after throttling Seton Hall on the road earlier in the week and time is running out for the Red Storm.

No. 15 Providence comes to Queens after picking up an emotional home victory on Sunday afternoon against Marquette which saw the return of AJ Reeves (finger) to the lineup.

The Friars took down the Johnnies by ten, 83-73, in the first meeting between the teams despite St. John’s leading by as many as seven in the second half.

A desperate St. John’s team should take the court on Tuesday night while Providence has been playing the disrespect card all season long and this matchup should be no different.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Providence

It is likely that St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon.

The rest of the roster appears to be healthy and ready to play on Tuesday night against Providence.

St. John’s vs. Providence Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds stunningly lists St. John’s as a 3-point favorite at home against No. 15 Providence on Tuesday night while the total is listed at 146.

After its best game of the season against Seton Hall, St. John’s was out-classed by Villanova on the road.

The result against the Wildcats was expected but the lack of competitiveness from the Red Storm was surprising after St. John’s seemingly controlled the first ten minutes.

Providence has continued to roll this season and its comeback home win over Marquette was no different. However, the Friars only had one day to recover and travel to New York after its grueling, emotional victory over the Golden Eagles.

It would have been much easier to predict a St. John’s win if the Red Storm as an underdog and the odds on this game are very peculiar.

We will take St. John’s to win the game outright but Providence to cover the spread as the total will go over the number listed.
