The St. John’s basketball team is right back on the court against rival Georgetown.

After a crushing loss on Tuesday night against No. 15 Providence, it is a quick and tough turnaround for the St. John’s basketball team go on the road and face the Georgetown Hoyas (6-13, 0-8 Big East) on Thursday night.

The game was originally scheduled for January 1 at the Capital One Arena but had to be postponed due to health and safety protocols with both programs and moved to February 3 at McDonough Gym, the on-campus home of the Hoyas.

St. John’s defeated Georgetown at Madison Square Garden on January 16, 88-69, behind 25 points from Julian Champagnie and 17 points from Posh Alexander and Dylan Addae-Wusu.

Champagnie has posted four straight games of single digit showings while Alexander put together the best game of his St. John’s career against the Friars.

If the Johnnies (11-9, 3-6 Big East) want any chance at saving its season it must win on Thursday or things could get ugly quickly in Queens with a daunting slate of games looming.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Georgetown

It is likely that St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon.

Forward Julian Champagnie was hit above the eye on Tuesday night against Providence and needed stitches before returning midway through the first half. It is likely he will play on Thursday night.

St. John’s vs. Georgetown Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds lists St. John’s as a 5.5-point favorite on the road against Georgetown on Thursday night while the total is listed at 158.5.

Tuesday night was yet another gut-punch for the Red Storm and this might be the most difficult one to get up from.

A large portion of St. John’s season, aside from winning the Big East Tournament, rested on beating the Friars and the Johnnies left it all on the floor but could not overcome many small mistakes in its loss.

Georgetown is also coming off of a tough Tuesday night loss at home against Seton Hall as the dreadful season continues for the Hoyas.

Someone’s season is going to hit rock bottom on Thursday night.

We will go with the upset and take Georgetown to cover, and win outright, on Thursday night while the total will go over the number listed.
