The St. John’s basketball team remains on the road to face the Butler Bulldogs.

A win on Thursday night against Butler was able to keep hope alive for the St. John’s basketball team and the Johnnies will need a similar showing against Butler on Saturday afternoon.

Iconic Hinkle Fieldhouse has been a house of horrors for the Red Storm, losing its last seven games in the venue and posting an all-time record of 1-7 in the building.

However, St. John’s can feel confident in Julian Champagnie when it takes the floor as the star forward was able to break his shooting slump against Georgetown and the Johnnies will need him to carry that momentum into the rest of the season.

Butler, due to a rash of injuries, had a slow start to the season but the Bulldogs have been playing much better as of late, winning two of its last three games.

The ‘Dawgs only lost by seven points on the road against No. 21 Providence and by two points away from home against No. 21 Xavier with wins over Creighton and Georgetown during that time.

St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon against Butler on Saturday afternoon.

The rest of the team is healthy and available to play.

St. John’s vs. Butler Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds lists St. John’s as a 2-point favorite on the road against Butler on Saturday afternoon while the total is listed at 139.

Thursday night was a season-saver for St. John’s in the sense it could not afford a loss to the only team in the conference that does not have a win in the Georgetown Hoyas.

St. John’s now has another chance for a similar victory against Butler in Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday and the Johnnies need the win in order to make next week’s games interesting.

Butler has been playing much better basketball of late and is always a tough opponent on its home floor, a building the Red Storm have been historically bad in.

We will take Butler to cover, and win, while the total will go under the number listed.
