The St. John’s basketball team begins its postseason run against DePaul in the Big East Tournament.

The postseason has arrived for the St. John’s basketball team as the Johnnies will make the short trip to Manhattan for the Big East Tournament.

St. John’s, the No. 7 seed, will get another chance at taking down DePaul, the No. 10 seed, this season after the Blue Demons put together an offensive clinic against the Johnnies two weeks ago in Chicago, winning 99-94.

The two programs split its regular season contests as each team won on its home floor.

Mike Anderson’s team has massively underachieved this season as many expected the Johnnies to reach the NCAA Tournament as the Red Storm now must win four games in four days in order to reach the Big Dance.

However, first year head coach Tony Stubblefield has invigorated this Blue Demon program and has over-performed in his first year in Chicago as expectations begin to rise with DePaul.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. DePaul

The two teams appear healthy heading into the postseason as there are no true injury concerns with either team going into Wednesday’s game.

It will be the first time that the two teams play each other with a healthy roster this season as St. John’s had players out due to health and safety protocols in its first matchup and center Joel Soriano did not play in the second meeting due to a knee injury.

St. John’s vs. DePaul Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s college basketball odds list St. John’s as a 5-point favorite against DePaul on a “neutral” floor at Madison Square Garden while the total is set at 154 points.

St. John’s interior defense certainly is better with Joel Soriano on the court but Wednesday will prove how much better the Johnnies are defensively with the Fordham transfer after DePaul got anything it wanted in the second matchup between the two teams.

We will take St. John’s to win and cover the spread on Wednesday night in the Opening Round of the Big East Tournament against DePaul while the total will go under the number listed.
