St. John’s basketball takeaways against DePaul:

Posh Alexander is a Difference Maker

A healthy, aggressive Posh Alexander is so vital for the success of St. John’s.

Alexander’s stat line will not be eye-catching but he controlled every aspect of the game on Wednesday night.

He posted eight points and seven assists on 3-of-7 shooting. Nothing too exciting on paper.

But he did not have a turnover. He valued the basketball. He was the floor general for the Red Storm.

The game was dictated by Alexander’s tempo and that is why the Johnnies were so dominant in the final 35 minutes of action.

It looked like he turned his ankle in the first half but was re-tapped on the St. John’s bench and looked fine on the court for the rest of the game.

Julian Champagnie is St. John’s best player but Posh Alexander is the most important player for the Red Storm.
