St. John’s basketball takeaways against DePaul:

Valuing the Basketball

The turnover numbers were stunning on Wednesday night.

St. John’s only turned the basketball over two times against DePaul.

It was the fewest amount of turnovers in a game in at least 15 years for the Johnnies and the fewest amount of turnovers in a Big East Tournament game since 1987.

The Red Storm forced 15 turnovers from DePaul and outscored the Blue Demons 24-0 in points off turnovers.

A major key to pulling off the upset on Thursday against Villanova will be taking care of the basketball and St. John’s is off to a good start in the tournament at valuing each possession.
