The St. John’s basketball team will get another chance at Villanova in the Big East Tournament.

The Big East Conference has been ruled by the Villanova Wildcats for so long but the St. John’s basketball team has a chance to knock them off.

Jay Wright and Villanova have been the crown jewel of the conference since its realignment and after an injury riddled postseason last year, the Wildcats will be looking to climb the top of the ladder once again.

However, the Red Storm are hungry and confident after its dominant win over DePaul on Wednesday night and boast one of the best player in the conference, Julian Champagnie.

Villanova swept the two matchups between the teams this season and has won the last three overall meetings against St. John’s.

Defeating the ‘Cats will be a tall task but one that eventually had to be done if the Red Storm want to make the NCAA Tournament.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Villanova

St. John’s and Villanova seem relatively healthy entering Thursday’s quarterfinal showdown.

The Johnnies picked up some bruises in its opening round victory against DePaul after freshman forward O’Mar Stanley seemed to be getting attention on the Red Storm bench in the first half on his lower leg and did not return.

Sophomore guard Posh Alexander looked to twist his ankle in the first half but had it tapped on the bench and returned to action.

St. John’s vs. Villanova Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s college basketball odds list St. John’s as a 6-point underdog against Villanova at Madison Square Garden while the total is set at 148.5 points.

The two meetings between the teams in the regular season were odd, specifically the second one in New York.

Villanova has the experience and the rest while St. John’s was able to get the jitters out on Wednesday night against DePaul.

It is hard to pick against the Wildcats in a situation like this as the program looks to reclaim its throne in the Big East Conference.

We will take Villanova to win and cover the spread on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament against St. John’s while the total will go under the number listed.
