St. John’s basketball: Chris Ledlum leaves Tennessee, reenters portal
St. John’s basketball transfer portal target Chris Ledlum has left Tennessee.
The transfer portal does not sleep — not even in mid-July — as former St. John’s basketball target Chris Ledlum is back in the portal.
Ledlum originally committed to Tennessee over St. John’s and Indiana in May but reentered the portal on Thursday morning after leaving the Volunteers shortly after its summer workout program began.
The Harvard transfer was initially expected to commit to Indiana before he landed on Rocky Top and both the Hoosiers and Red Storm are reportedly pursuing the 6-foot-6 forward from Brooklyn.
Chris Ledlum averaged 18.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.8 steals per game last season for the Crimson while shooting 47.3-percent from the field.

He played three seasons for Harvard, seeing action in 70 games and starting 41.
St. John’s basketball already with loaded roster
The latest addition to the St. John’s roster already created a logjam in terms of scholarships.
Former North Carolina signee, and 4-star recruit, Simeon Wilcher was the most recent player to join Rick Pitino’s program and it put the Red Storm to 14 scholarship players on the team and the NCAA only allows men’s basketball teams to have 13 scholarships.
However, it has been reported that Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) could compensate for the one extra player who was given a scholarship to St. John’s and if the Johnnies were to land Chris Ledlum, NIL would, again, be able to cover the cost of a scholarship.

St. John’s is also awaiting word on transfer Daniss Jenkins who still has to graduate from Iona this summer in order to be immediately eligible with the Red Storm.
There has been no specific date set for a commitment from Chris Ledlum but the expectation is that he will announce his next move relatively quickly.
