3. Marquette Golden Eagles (2-0)

The biggest question around Marquette to begin the season was how would the Golden Eagles replace the production of Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro and it did not take long to find the answer.

Kam Jones and David Joplin combined to average 48.0 points per game in victories over Stony Brook and George Mason while Chase Ross added 17.0 points in the week.

Shaka Smart doesn't utilize the transfer portal very often and it has worked for his program because this team looks like it will be a contender around the nation. A massive tilt awaits on Friday night against Maryland, which is the first of three straight games for Marquette against quality opponents.

2. Creighton Bluejays (2-0)

Ryan Kalkbrenner was the Big East Preseason Player of the Year for a reason and it didn't take him long to prove the coaches correct for giving him the award.

Kalkbrenner would post 49 points and 11 rebounds against the University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley in the season opener which was followed by a 24-point and six rebound showing against Fairleigh Dickinson. He's 29-of-32 shooting the ball from the field this season.

Add in the combination of Steven Ashworth and Pop Isaacs and Creighton has another offensive trio that will try and lead the conference in scoring.

Things get much more real for the Bluejays next week maybe the most difficult stretch of non-conference games in the country.
