5. St. John's Red Storm (5-2)

St. John's had hopes that its weekend in the Bahamas would be its national coming out party after surviving a week inside the Associated Press Top-25 but it was anything but.

The Johnnies blew an 18-point lead against No. 13 Baylor in its first matchup of the Baha Mar Championship, only to rally at the end of regulation and overtime to lose on a controversial 3-point buzzer beater from Jeremy Roach in double overtime.

Then, a 25-point win over Virginia on Friday was marred after an offensive disaster against Georgia, which featured another blown second half lead -- although not as drastic. Rick Pitino's team has talent but they need to get everyone on the same page quickly -- some time off and a couple 'buy games' could do the trick over the new few weeks.

6. Providence Friars (5-0)

The season starts this week for Kim English and the Providence Friars.

They are 5-0, haven't looked impressive, but didn't have its best player available in Bryce Hopkins as he was continuing to recover from last year's ACL team.

Well, now he's back and it comes just in time for the Battle 4 Atlantis on Wednesday when the Friars take on Oklahoma. There is expected to be rust for Hopkins after such a long time away from the court but this Providence team needs an alpha and that is exactly what it is getting back.

If Providence can win two games in Atlantis, it will be a wildly successful trip.
