7. Butler Bulldogs (4-1)

Butler has bounced back after its loss to Austin Peay and did so impressively with a victory over SMU, one of the newest members of the ACC.

They get more of a challenge this week as the Bulldogs head to Arizona to battle Northwestern on Thursday before a matchup with Mississippi State or UNLV on Friday. A perfect week from Thad Matta's team could make things interesting when ranking the Big East teams next week.

8. DePaul Blue Demons (6-0)

Again, winning gets rewarded and that is what DePaul is doing.

There is no MTE for the Blue Devils this year but after next week we will really see what Chris Holtmann is working with in Chicago.

Following a matchup with Valparaiso this Saturday, DePaul will play Texas Tech, Providence, Wichita State, and St. John's. The challengers are coming, let's see if this program can take another positive step in its resurrection.

9. Seton Hall Pirates (4-3)

It was tough to expect anything from the Pirates as they traveled to South Carolina for the Charleston Classic this weekend but Shaheen Holloway's team pleasantly surprised as underdogs in each of its three games.

Seton Hall cracked 60 points for the first time this season on Thursday against VCU, the preseason favorite to win the Atlantic-10, and they did it in regulation but needed overtime to secure the victory, which was no issue for Holloway.

It took a step back the following day against Vanderbilt but held on for victory in its finale on Sunday evening against FAU.

Seton Hall has to celebrate the little victories throughout the season as the team still figures things out. It's next three games -- all at home -- have to be victories.
