The St. John's basketball team finished off the calendar year on a sour note by falling to No. 21 Creighton on the road, 67-56.

The Johnnies stuck with the Bluejays in the 1st quarter only being behind by four, 16-12, but would fall behind by double digits at halftime, 33-23, as the Bluejays' 3-point shooting began to come alive as they went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc in the 2nd quarter.

The hot shooting continued into the 3rd quarter with Creighton going 5-for-6 from 3-point range and shooting 53-percent from the field coming out of halftime.

St. John's (7-7, 1-1 Big East) would tighten things up in the 4th quarter, holding Creighton to 28-percent shooting in the final 10 minutes, outscoring the Bluejays 15-11in the 4th quarter, but it would not be enough to complete the comeback.
