St. John's basketball forward Glenn Taylor Jr. is entering the transfer portal for the second straight offseason.

Taylor Jr., who began his career at Oregon State, averaged just 4.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for the Johnnies during his only season in Queens. However, he did shoot 44.9-percent from the floor and 42.4-percent from 3-point range, starting 21 of 33 games.

The news was first reported by On3.

It was an up-and-down season for Taylor Jr., despite the amount of games he started. There would be instances where he only played a handful of minutes, like logging a total of 17 minutes over a four game stretch in February.

His best two games came at the end of February as St. John's tried to mount a late push towards the NCAA Tournament. He had 10 rebounds and six assists with stifling defense against Creighton, an elite shooting team, while scoring 17 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range in a 23-point win over Butler in the Red Storm's next game.

Glenn Taylor Jr. joins Cruz Davis and Drissa Traore in the transfer portal from St. John's and the latest addition is expected to be the final departure from the current roster.

Playing time would have been difficult to find for Taylor Jr. next year with the return of RJ Luis and the expected additions the team is going to make in the portal. The Las Vegas native played 17.5 minutes per game this season, the lowest of his career.

His playing time was very much correlated with the health of Luis, who missed most of the non-conference schedule with a broken left hand and shin splints. Taylor averaged 25.4 minutes per game while Luis was sidelined and just 14.7 minutes during Big East games, most of which Luis was available.

There are currently five open scholarships for Rick Pitino to fill entering next season.
