3. Rick Pitino Wins First Big East game in 10 Years
More on this later in the list, but head coach Rick Pitino won his first Big East in 10 years on December 20 in a commanding 81-66 win over Xavier.
In arguably the team's most complete performance of the season, the Johnnies kicked off Big East play with a bang with a comfortable win against the Musketeers.
Five players finished the game in double figures and it was a breakout game for UConn transfer Nahiem Alleyne with 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists.
