St. John's basketball: 3 transfer portal targets to replace Joel Soriano
2. Amari Williams (Drexel)
If St. John's doesn't land Cliff Omoruyi, Amari Williams is next on the wish-list for Rick Pitino.
Similar to the Rutgers center, Williams is a defensive wizard in the paint. He is a 3-time Defensive Player of the Year in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), averaging 2.0 blocks per game over his last three seasons at Drexel.
He posted 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game during his senior season and is already narrowing his search on where he will be playing next season, scheduling visits to St. John's, Indiana, Creighton, and Florida.
Williams will take his first visit with the Red Storm, beginning on Monday April 15.
Duke has also entered the race for Amari Williams after he set his initial four visits and while a visit hasn't been scheduled to Durham, the Blue Devils are considered a realistic option for the 6-foot-10 center.
3. Maxime Raynaud (Stanford)
Maxime Raynaud and St. John's haven't been linked too much other than the program doing its due diligence and it would be a very difficult task in trying to land the 7-foot-1 center from Stanford, but it would be too big of an omission not to include him on this list.
Things have been relatively quiet surrounding the recruitment of Raynaud since entering the portal but he is considred one of the top players to transfer this offseason after averaging 15.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game this season for the Cardinal.
Don't expect to see Maxime Raynaud in a St. John's uniform next season but he would be a great replacement for Joel Soriano.
