Queens is the world’s borough, and St. John’s is going to be the world’s team after adding a pair of international prospects to continuing filling out its roster for the 2026-27 season.

Late last week the Red Storm landed 22-year-old Montenegro native Djordije Jovanovic after adding British point guard Quinn Ellis from the EuroLeague.

Jovanovic, a 6-foot-7 forward, played for KK Budućnost over the last two seasons and averaged 4.9 points and 1.7 rebounds per game while shooting 43.1-percent from the floor and 38.6-percent from 3-point range in the Adriatic League.

Nearly a year ago he played with Montenegro’s national team in EuroBasket and averaging 6.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest on 44.4-percent shooting. He also spent time in the NBA G-League with the Los Angeles Clippers affiliate for two seasons while posting 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds.

Djordije Jovanovic hopes to fill a role vacated by the departing Sadiku Ibine Ayo in which he can come off the bench and hit shots from the outside while being a solid defender.

Then, Rick Pitino added Serbian 7-footer Lazar Stojkovic on Tuesday after his visit to St. John’s on Monday.

Stojkovic has played for BKK Radinicki and Crvena Zvezda's in the Serbian JLS and KLS. He averaged 5.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in the KLS. While playing for Serbia in the EuroBasket last summer, he went for 4.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in seven games.

Similar other international players that have joined St. John’s roster within the last three seasons, Stojkovic is a depth piece that will learn, practice, and develop under Pitino with the hopes of making a contribution to the team later in his career.

Including the additions Djordije Jovanovic, Lazar Stojkovic, and Quinn Ellis, St. John’s now has seven players with international experience including Ruben Prey, Lefteris Liotopolous, Casper Pohto, and Fotis Konstantindis.
