Top-30 recruit talks about unofficial visit to St. John’s basketball game
A Top-30 St. John’s basketball target recently spoke about his recruitment and his unofficially visits to three of his top schools.
One of the top recruits in the Class of 2021, Franck Kepnang, recently spoke with Eric Bossi of Rivals about the unofficial visits he took last season, what his experience was like at those schools, a timeline for his decision, and how he is getting is work in during the coronavirus pandemic.
Kepnang, a native of Cameroon, currently resides in Norristown, Pennsylvania and attends Westtown School standing at 6-foot-10, 220 pounds.

Ranked as the No. 24 recruit in the Class of 2021 and the top player in the state of Pennsylvania, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Kepnang holds over 20 offers but told Bossi that he does not really pay attention to the number, rather the just enjoys the recruitment process.
Last season the center took unofficial visits to Georgetown, Maryland, and St. John’s and what truly caught his eye is the fact that the two Big East schools play in NBA arena and not on the school’s campus.
Kepnang loved the atmosphere around the Maryland program as he was in attendance when the Terrapins clinched the Big Ten Regular Season Championship.
As for St. John’s, Franck Kepnang said he had never been to Madison Square Garden and it was interesting to see that a college team has the chance to play in a major NBA building.
Kepnang, a PSA Cardinal standout, said that he does not have a timetable on his recruitment as major blue bloods have shown interest in the rising star such as Kansas and Kentucky.

The big man would thrive in Mike Anderson‘s system as he describes himself as a highly energetic, passionate, and leader who loves talking when he’s on the floor and playing defense and rebounding.
Kepnang admits that his offensive game around the basket needs to be worked on, although he has rattled some rims in his high school career.

Trying to stay in shape has been important for Franck Kepnang since many parks near his home have boarded up and removed basketball rims in order to enforce social distancing.
Including the Big East Tournament, St. John’s posted a 4-4 record at Madison Square Garden last season with wins coming against West Virginia, DePaul, Marquette, and Georgetown with a 10-2 record at Carnesecca Arena, highlighted with a 30-point win over then No. 10 Creighton.
