The St. John’s basketball program has been in contact with a Class of 2021 recruit amid the coronavirus pandemic but will have some completion from familiar foes.

Mike Anderson is adapting to the current conditions of the world the best way possible and using the technology that’s available to him in order to stay fresh on the recruiting trail.

The St. John’s staff has been working the Class of 2021 phone lines and the Johnnies have been in constant contact with three-star recruit Daniel Nixon, according to StockRisers.

Nixon is not ranked in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings but is ranked as the No. 38 small forward in his class.

According to his interview with StockRisers, St. John’s will have some familiar competition for Nixon as Big East rivals Seton Hall, Georgetown, and Marquette have also been in contact with the 6-foot-7 small forward over the last two months.

Auburn, Iowa, East Carolina, George Washington, Tennessee, Iona,  Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati have also been in close communication with the Pottstown, Pennsylvania native.

Daniel Nixon was previously a standout at The Hill School (PA) but has since announced he will be playing at Winston-Salem Prep (NC) in the fall.

St. John’s has been very active on the recruiting trail with the Class of 2021, offering 27 scholarships in total to the rising high school senior class, according to Verbal Commits, but have yet to land a commitment from a prospect.
