The St. John’s basketball program recently extended an offer to Class of 2022 point guard Avery Brown

Mike Anderson has dropped the final domino of a potential Class of 2022 package deal that was written about last week.

St. John’s recently extended an offer to four-star point guard Avery Brown of Northfield Mount Hermon High School (Mass.)

More from Storm The Paint

Brown is the No. 80 recruit in the same rankings, the No. 18 point guard, and No. 1 player in the state of Massachusetts, according to the Top247 Rankings.

The 6-foot-3 point guard is very good friends with prime St. John’s target Kyle Cuffe Jr. and once the Red Storm first reached out to Brown, a tweet surfaced that fans should keep a close eye to the recruitment of the two prospects, inferring that they could land at the same school.

St. John’s is the first school to officially extended an offer to both prospects according to their Verbal Commits page.

Avery Brown also holds offers from Brown, Columbia, Fairfield, Howard, Massachusetts, Penn State, Pennsylvania, Sienna, South Dakota, Towson, and Yale whole receiving interest from Kansas State, Ohio State, Providence, Connecticut, Georgia, Dayton, Elon, and Bryant.

Brown most recently picked up an offer from St. Louis on June 30 after getting his offer from the Red Storm on June 29.

Kyle Cuffe Jr. already has offers from Kansas State, Connecticut, Providence, and St. John’s.

Mike Anderson has been one of the busiest coaches on the recruiting trail, regardless of class, but the Red Storm do not have a commitment from a player in the Class of 2021 or 2022.

In Anderson’s first full offseason as the head coach of the Johnnies, St. John’s is brining in a five-man recruiting class headlined by high school product Posh Alexander and JUCO All-American Vince Cole.

Avery Brown has not provided a timetable for the remainder of his recruitment and since he will be only starting his junior season on the fall, expect for the point guard to pick up many more power conference offers in the months to come.
