Former St. John’s basketball standout JaKarr Sampson was the top scorer to come off the bench for the Indiana Pacers in its victory over the Washington Wizards.
After a positive first restart game back for the Indiana Pacers, former St. John’s standout JaKarr Sampson had another positive encore performance against the Washington Wizards.
Sampson played 20 minutes off the bench and scored six points, six rebounds, two assists, and a steal in Indiana’s 127-121 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday, Monday was more of the same for Cleveland, Ohio native.

In the nine man rotation of Pacers head coach Nate McMillan, he left Sampson on the floor for 16 minutes off the bench as the ex-St. John’s standout scored the most points of the bench group for Indiana.
The NBA veteran scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting and made both of his free throw attempts.
JaKarr Sampson also posted three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in the 111-100 victory.
Edmond Sumner was the next highest scoring player off the bench for the Pacers with five points.
There’s no time for JaKarr Sampson or the rest of the Pacers to rest as they will be back on the floor on Tuesday evening against the Orlando Magic, who are trying to improve its seeding and build off its perfect 2-0 start in the NBA’s bubble inside the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.

Indiana and Orlando will tipoff at 6:00pm EST on Tuesday.
The Indiana Pacers currently hold a 41-26 record which places them as the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference, one game behind of the Miami Heat and one game ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Following Tuesday’s game, the Pacers will have five games left in the regular season of the NBA’s restart before the playoffs are scheduled to begin on August 17.
