St. John’s basketball makes huge addition to schedule with Boston College
The St. John’s basketball program made a huge addition to its non-conference schedule with the scheduling of Boston College.
Mike Anderson and St. John’s look to have its non-conference schedule set.
The Red Storm have added the Boston College Eagles to its slate of games, according to a report from CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein.
Rothstein states that the game will be held on November 30 and take place inside the bubble at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Boston College is now added to a slate of games that includes Manhattan, La Salle, Sacred Heart, Fordham, Texas Tech, and one team still to be named.

Under the NCAA’s guidelines for the 2020-21 season, teams are only allowed to schedule seven non-conference games but the Big East will be conducting a 20-game schedule for conference play.
Aside from its game against Boston College, the St. John’s non-conference slate of games was rather weak, although its clearly not easy to schedule regional matchups in the midst of a pandemic, but it gave the Johnnies no room for error.
However, St. John’s still must defeat the mid-majors the team will play, now it just has another chance to add to its NCAA Tournament resume with a Power-5 victory.
As a former Big East Conference member, St. John’s and Boston College have taken the floor together quite often as the Eagles are the sixth most played opponent in Red Storm history.
The Johnnies hold a 44-27 record over Boston College, but the last time these two teams faced each other was in 2008-09 season.

Boston College has won the last seven matchups in the series and wins in eight of the last ten games between the two programs.
St. John’s is also familiar with playing in the Mohegan Sun Arena as the Red Storm took part in the Air Force Reserve Basketball Hall of Fame Tipoff last season in the same venue, falling to Arizona State and defeating Massachusetts.
Boston College and head coach Jim Christian, who will be entering his seventh season, are coming off of a 13-19 season (7-13 ACC) and were one of the teams that saw its season officially end before the cancelation of the season after a loss to Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament.
