A rivalry matchup awaits the St. John’s basketball team in a unique circumstance.

Two rivals are entering Madison Square Garden looking for bounce back victories after the St. John’s basketball team was demolished against Creighton and Seton Hall has lost its last two games.

The Johnnies (10-6, 2-3 Big East) and the Pirates (11-5, 2-4 Big East) will play each other twice in the span on three days after one of the meetings between the rivals was postponed due to COVID.

Seton Hall, once a Top-25 team in the country, has seen its best non-conference victories (Michigan and Texas) look less impressive as the days go by and St. John’s, which has NCAA Tournament hopes, is winless in five Quadrant 1 attempts.

It will be a pivotal 72 hours for each program as the ball tips at noon in Manhattan.

St. John’s Injury Report vs. Seton Hall

St. John’s will still be without Rafael Pinzon as he recovers from health and safety protocols.

The rest of the roster appears to be healthy and ready to play on Saturday against Seton Hall.

St. John’s vs. Seton Hall Odds: Spread, Over/Under & Betting Pick

WynnBET’s College Basketball Odds lists St. John’s as a 3.5-point underdog at home against rival Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon while the total is listed at 156.5.

After getting absolutely blasted on the road against Creighton earlier this week, St. John’s should look like a desperate and motivated team against Seton Hall but its opponents are also sitting on a couple of bad losses.

The Pirates, which were off all week, are coming off two road losses against DePaul and Marquette and will head across the river and should be motivated to prove that it is a Top-25 caliber team once again.

It seems far-fetched and irresponsible to take St. John’s so we will take Seton Hall to win, and cover, against the Johnnies while the total will go under the number listed.
