LeBron James delivered the perfect recruiting pitch Mike Anderson and the St. John’s basketball staff could ever ask for on Sunday night, highlight the experience one gets from Madison Square Garden.
You probably didn’t think when you woke up on Sunday morning that LeBron James would send a tweet that could positively impact the recruiting of the St. John’s Red Storm, did you?
Well, that’s were we all ended up on Sunday evening following Episodes Seven and Eight of the ESPN documentary, The Last Dance, which highlights the career of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.
Throughout the ten part series, Jordan expressed his love for playing in Madison Square Garden and James did the same on Sunday night via Twitter.
Mike Anderson and his coaching staff should have thousands of copies printed of James’ words to show recruits and seal the deal of them becoming Johnnies.
The only college team in America that gets to call Madison Square Garden home, St. John’s plays a handful of their home games at The World’s Most Famous Arena while playing the rest on campus at Carnesecca Arena.
St. John’s also gets to play in its home building in on 33rd Street and 8th Avenue during the Big East Tournament each season.

For players that get younger every season, they were able to watch players like LeBron James growing up and his words can be held in a sacred light for those who idolize the player and the game of basketball.
Clearly fans of the New York Knicks will run with the notion of James playing the final years of his career in the building as a Knick, but maybe St. John’s fans should also cling to that hope as the eldest James as expressed interest in playing with his son, LeBron James Jr., in the NBA.

Bronny James will be entering his sophomore season at Sierra Canyon High School and although he will undoubtedly have high profile suitors like Duke, Kentucky, and North Carolina, the son of the future Hall of Famer could be eligible for the NBA Draft after high school, if agreed upon by the NBA and its Players Association in the future.
Although nothing more than a pipe-dream, perhaps James Sr. and James Jr. would compromise by playing in the same city and building during Bronny’s freshman year of college at St. John’s and what would be LeBron’s 20th season in the NBA.

However, if nothing else, Mike Anderson and his coaching staff could have the best recruiting endorsement in the words of LeBron James that the home of the St. John’s Red Storm is the best basketball arena in the world.
