St. John’s basketball commit Vince Cole showed off his deep shooting range in a recent workout video.

If there was something St. John’s was truly missing last season it was a consistent 3-point shooter and one could be on the way.

A recent video surfaced on Twitter that showed incoming JUCO All-American Vince Cole letting his shot fly from deep 3-point territory and hitting nothing put nylon.

Cole stared at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie and averaged 21.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 44.6 percent from 3-point range, and 90.1 percent from the free throw line.

As a team, St. John’s shot 32.1 percent from deep, with senior guard Mustapha Heron leading the way at 38.5 percent, but was only limited to 21 games because of season ending ankle surgery.

After Heron, LJ Figueroa was the top shooter from 3-point range at 36.5 percent, but the recent news of the junior entering the transfer portal would mean the best 3-point shooter returning to Queens is Greg Williams Jr. at 34.4 percent.

Vince Cole will be relied upon much more after the expected departure of Figueroa, standing at 6-foot-6, 195 pounds and the athleticism to thrive in the defensive scheme of head coach Mike Anderson.

The wing will have two years of eligibility once he arrives at St. John’s.

A native of Allendale, South Carolina, Cole is ranked as the No. 21 JUCO recruit in the country, No. 7 shooting guard, and No. 2 prospect in the state of South Carolina, according to the 247 Sports Composite JUCO Rankings.

Vince Cole will be joined by his fellow JUCO prospect Isaih Moore at St. John’s, George Washington graduate transfer Arnaldo Toro, and freshmen Posh Alexander and Dylan Wusu. The group combines to be ranked as the No. 77 recruiting class in the country and No. 6 in the Big East.
