Overseas Elite was stunned on the final shot of the game in the semifinals of the TBT against Sideline Cancer.

It was an instant classic in The Basketball Tournament but Overseas Elite was stunned on the final shot of the game in the semifinals against Sideline Cancer.

Overseas Elite was the highest remaining seed in the bracket, No. 2, and Sideline Cancer has proven to be clearly better than its No. 22 seed as it now heads to the Championship Game to face the Golden Eagles, a team made up of Marquette alumni.Ma

It was the Elam Ending that hurt Overseas Elite in the end as Sideline Caner star Maurice Creek drilled a step-back 3-pointer that hit the target score of 67 and came away with a 67-65 victory.

Overseas Elite had the chance to win the game on the previous possession but after timeout, former NBA All-Star Joe Johnson had his shot altered at rim that caused a fast break for Sideline Cancer.

Marcus Keene finished the game with a game-high 22 points as Joe Johnson once again led Overseas Elite with 18 points.

Former Red Storm star Justin Burrell had his best game of the tournament with eight points, six rebounds, and one assist on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting from the field.

Paris Horne continued his assistant coaching and General Manager duties from the sideline while ESPN had DJ Kennedy call into the broadcast as a special guest in the first half.

Kennedy opted out prior to the TBT citing coronavirus concerns as his temporary departure from the team.

Sunday marked the second straight year that Overseas Elite fell in the semifinals as the team also lost to Carmen’s Crew last season after winning four straight TBT championships.

As for Paris Horne, Justin Burrell, and DJ Kennedy, they will wait for the green light to return to their respective overseas teams and hopefully be back in the 2021 TBT without any restrictions.
