The top St. John’s basketball recruiting target has pushed up his commitment date.
Christmas Day will no longer be stressful for St. John’s basketball supporters as the program’s top recruiting target will have already made his decision.
Kyle Cuffe Jr., a four-star target in the Class of 2022, had announced his intentions to announce his college decision on December 26 but he has now pushed up that timeline to December 19.
Cuffe Jr. announced his Top-6 finalists back on November 13 which includes, St. John’s, Kansas State, Pittsburgh, Kansas, Georgia, and Texas A&M.
In breaking down his Top-6 with Tipton Edits, the Blair Academy (N.J.) standout said, “I love the coach and the excitement he brings, my father also went here.”

Kyle Cuffe Jr. would be referring to head coach Mike Anderson, who is in the midst of his season season at the helm of the Johnnies, and his father, Kyle Cuffe Sr., who played in Queens from 2000-04.
The junior prospect is listed at 6-foot-2, 180-pound and also stars for the PSA Cardinals.
Cuffe Jr. is ranked as the No. 109 player in the Class of 2022, No. 15 shooting guard, and No. 4 player in the state of New Jersey, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
Who is the biggest competition for the St. John’s basketball program?
Perhaps its Kansas State who could provided the biggest threat for Kyle Cuffe Jr. as assistant coach Shane Southwell played high school basketball with the prospects father at Rice High School (N.Y.).
St. John’s also has to be wary of the Kansas Jayhawks, the lone blue blood to offer Cuffe Jr. during his recruitment.
